Privacy policy

The token counter and the cost calculators run in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to us. We use cookie-free analytics, and the only personal data we collect is the work email you give us if you join the pilot.

Who we are

AI Token Counter (aitokencounter.org) is run by Evan, who decides how the personal data described here is used. You can reach us at support@aitokencounter.org.

What stays in your browser

Text you paste or open in the token counter, and every number you enter in a calculator, is processed on your device. It isn’t uploaded or stored. When you choose Open in cost calculator, the link carries the model and the two token counts, never your text.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to count page views and a few events: for example, that a calculator was used, a model was switched, the pilot was opened, or a link to a model page or a vendor’s source was followed. Events carry page and model names only, never your text, file names, the numbers you enter or API keys. Plausible sets no cookies, doesn’t store your IP address and doesn’t follow you to other sites. Its script loads from stats.anytomd.com. See Plausible’s data policy.

Pilot sign-ups

The pilot asks two yes-or-no questions first. If you answer No to either, we collect nothing. If you answer Yes to both, we ask for a work email and, optionally, which models you use. We send them, with the page you started from, to our form provider, Formspree. See Formspree’s privacy policy.

  • We use your email only to arrange the pilot call.
  • It isn’t added to a marketing list or shared with anyone for marketing.
  • If you don’t join the pilot, we delete it within 90 days.
  • If you join, we keep it while you take part and delete it within 90 days after you leave or the pilot ends.

Hosting

Cloudflare serves this site. Like any web host, it processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages, and it may set a security cookie to filter out bots. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Your choices

Email support@aitokencounter.org, or reply to any email we’ve sent you, to ask what we hold about you, to correct it or to have it deleted sooner.

Other sites

Pages here link to vendors’ pricing pages, documentation and news reports. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. See also our terms of use.

Join the pilot

We’re testing project cost reviews with developers who already pay an LLM API bill. Two quick questions first.

Do you have an AI app live in production or in steady trial?

Do you pay an LLM API bill every month?

We only ask for your email if the pilot fits you.
